A Clean Bill of Health

Nora had her one week check-up today, and she passed with flying colors.  Her bilirubin was down (yay!), and her weight was up (double yay!).  She was down to 5 lbs 9 oz when we left the hospital, so we were thrilled that she tipped the scales at 6 lbs 9 oz today.  Her stats (Marc's convinced she is a Rivals 5-star):

Weight:  6 lbs 9 oz (20%)

Height:  19.75 in (45%)

Her pediatrician said she looked great and gave us the go-ahead to head out into the world (well, except for Wal-mart, the grocery store, or other places where people might get a little too friendly).   We are looking forward to our first outing tomorrow night.  Mama can't wait to blow this popsicle stand and get out of the house.  Now, if the weather would just cooperate, we could also take some morning walks.

We are now 11 days into this parenting thing, and things are going pretty well.  (At least from our perspective.  Nora might tell a different story, but luckily she isn't talking these days).  We're slowly working our way toward a schedule (and toward sleeping in our crib in the nursery), and thanks to a litany of texts and emails to Mary Louis, Christopher, and Katharyn (lifesavers!), the anxiety is lessening and we seem to be settling in.  Of course, just to show me who's the boss, Nora will probably be up all night (we are currently sleeping in 1.5 to 2 hour stretches, but that's better than nothing).
