Since I am late writing this, I'm having a hard time remembering what was 12 months and what needs to go in the 13 month update. Oops. Nora is still not standing or walking. She has gotten very good at pulling up and standing while holding onto furniture, and she can walk when you hold her hands. She just really has no interest in actually walking on her own. She has learned to climb up the stairs and LOVES it. She can get all the way to the top, but hasn't mastered going back down the stairs. We spend a lot of time keeping her away from the stairs, which isn't easy.
She still loves to eat and is now on table food exclusively. She will try most things, but she ends up eating a lot of grilled cheese, turkey, cheese, avocado/guacamole, and fruits. She loves watermelon and blueberries (almost the exclusion of any other food). She still has that one little tooth, but she manages to eat just about anything. She still takes a bottle/nurses four times a day, but I've started weaning her, so she's on bottles exclusively for two of those feedings. She's still wearing a lot of 9 month clothing, some 12 month stuff, and a few 6 month items. She's still in a size 3 diaper.
We had her 12 month doctor's appointment. She weighed 18 lbs., 10 oz (12th percentile) and was 29 in long (45th percentile - I think they may have mis-measured her). She got three shots, which caused many tears (and resulted in me basically running from the exam room with a half-clad baby screaming her head off). But she got a good report overall.
She is still babbling and saying things like "dada" and "mama," but I'm not convinced that she says it with any intent or direction. She does seem very intentional when she "talks," but I can't really figure out what she is saying! She responds to commands really well. If you tell her to give you something, she will. If you tell her to come to you, she will, etc. She has started waving goodbye, but she only does it sporadically and usually long after I've told her to say "bye bye." Oh well.
She is sleeping through the night consistently, but she is still waking up really (!!) early. Usually I try not to get her up until at least 6 am, but sometimes that doesn't always work. She goes to bed between 7 and 8, but regardless of when she goes down, she is up by 6 am. She still takes two naps, usually a shorter one in the morning and a longer one (1.5-2 hours) in the afternoon.
She has adjusted to her new classroom and loves her teachers, Miss Krystal and Miss Sharon. They are so sweet to her. She is sleeping on a cot at school, which is hard for me to believe, but they say she is doing great.
She has her moments, but all in all, she is just the sweetest little bit!
